Insights from ACC 2025: How Aidoc Is Shaping the Future of AI in Cardiovascular Care

This year’s American College of Cardiology (ACC) Conference brought industry leaders together to learn about the latest advancements in cardiovascular care. This event was packed with innovation, especially regarding AI and its growing role in healthcare. Here are some of the key takeaways.

Aidoc’s Product Highlights: CAC Patient Management and Automating Echocardiograms

At ACC, we showcased Aidoc’s Coronary Artery Calcium (CAC) Patient Management Solution, which helps identify at-risk individuals who may otherwise go unnoticed. Patients flagged for unexpected CAC are routed into a Patient Management dashboard, where they can be filtered by the severity of their calcification burden. Automatically placing at-risk patients into the dashboard enables care teams to schedule timely and appropriate follow-up care, ultimately improving patient outcomes and lowering healthcare costs.

Another standout moment for Aidoc was highlighting our collaboration with Us2.ai, which automates the analysis of echocardiograms. This AI-powered solution helps overcome operator variability and workflow resource constraints, to improve clinical efficiency.

What We Heard at ACC 2025

Beyond discussing Aidoc’s solutions at our booth, there were three consistent themes in keynote sessions and individual discussions:

AI Can Help Optimize Workflows

Our very own Chief Transformation Officer Demetri Giannikopoulos participated in a panel on how AI can enhance non-clinical operations within cardiovascular care. He shared insights about the power of precision matching – aligning the right patient, at the right time, in the right setting. AI can help make this a scalable reality, all while streamlining both frontend workflows and backend processes, to reduce clinical burden and increase efficiency.

In Healthcare, A Unified AI Platform Is Critical

Without a connected system, AI tools can be fragmented, existing in silos that are unable to unify teams and processes. Using a platform like Aidoc’s aiOS™ ensures a dynamic, interconnected ecosystem that supports the entire enterprise – connecting data, people and information to enhance existing workflows.

AI Monitoring and Governance Must Be Prioritized

AI governance, especially as AI tools become more embedded in clinical practice, was a hot topic. A key discussion point: Why governance shouldn’t just stop at assessing risk before AI implementation. Health systems should ensure that the AI platforms they’re using streamline monitoring elements like performance, usability, impact, risk management and compliance to ensure an effective, safe and secure solution.

Looking Ahead: The Future of AI in Cardiovascular Care

It’s clear that AI adoption in cardiovascular care is accelerating, and Aidoc is committed to staying at the forefront of this transformation. From our CAC Solution to the automated echocardiogram analysis from our partner, we’re excited to continue helping clinicians deliver improved patient care.
