Characteristics of an Ideal AI Champion

Your clinical AI can’t be effective if people aren’t using it, and that’s why change management is such an important part of implementation. Key to this effort is cultivating internal champions within each user group. These individuals act as localized change agents, bridging the gap between the technology and its users.

The most successful champions possess a unique blend of qualities. They’re early adopters, enthusiastic about the technology’s potential and respected by their peers. They should receive targeted training to become frontline subject matter experts capable of answering questions and providing guidance. This localized support is far more effective than top-down mandates about how/when AI can and should be used.

Champions also play a vital role in showcasing success. They identify and share “wow” moments where the AI delivers tangible benefits, building excitement and demonstrating value. By empowering these champions, organizations can help ensure smoother workflow transitions and maximize the return on their AI investment.
